During the summer of 2022, I worked as a UI/UX and Service Design intern at NCR. They are the #1 global POS software provider for retail and hospitality, and the #1 provider of multi-vendor ATM software.

About the role

During the three month internship at NCR, I was fortunate to work with a variety of individuals and teams that influence the daily lives of users through technology in the hospitality, retail and banking industries.

As a UI/UX and service designer, the unique project work I completed spanned between these industries. I also participated in external-facing activities which included leading a discussion on micro-transactions in gaming and I facilitated thought provoking workshops instructing others on how design thinking is beneficial to the end product NCR delivers.

My contributions included:

  1. Researching and designing a banking chat assistant
  2. Designing web pages for an internal banking marketplace
  3. Conducting an accessibility review and redesign of a cash and cryptocurrency transfer service
  4. Used HTML, CSS, and Javascript to develop a prototype used on an ATM machine
